I had just finished a painting session here and was walking back to my car when this view captivated me. It looked like it was on fire, the orange glow was so intense, with most of everything else falling into shadow / fading in the light. I snapped a quick photo and worked from this.
This is a demo I completed at Mountain Trails Gallery in Sedona, where I showcase my best plein air and studio paintings. I am an an artist in residence there and you can find me working in the gallery on Fridays and Saturdays along with a collection of my finest work. This painting is Also inspired the inspiration I find working there.
